A few useful ways into the research

I look for who took part and what was measured first. A mouse experiment, a human trial and an official label do different jobs. Their titles can sound equally impressive; their answers aren't interchangeable.

Research and access answer different questions

A trial can show a change without establishing an approved use. A label sets out a product's approved purpose and warnings. FDA's access information deals with another question again: what the law allows.

Dates matter here. The FDA page below lists withdrawn nominations alongside the safety concerns that remain. Withdrawal isn't clearance, and the page's date isn't a withdrawal date for each substance.

Human findings and the limits beside them

These sources cover weight, fat location, safety and what happened after treatment stopped. I keep those pieces together. A reassuring result in one area doesn't erase a warning in another.
